See you on the other side!

Revelation 3:7-8

⁷ “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write,

‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: ⁸ “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it;
for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.

A wide, open, door of opportunity has been set before us by none other than Jesus Christ as we enter the new year of 2013.

Three qualities are required to go through that door.

1. A little strength: Not great strength. All of us possess a little strength. “Let the weak say, ‘I am strong’ (Joel 3:10).” The great heroes of the faith were heroes because it was out of weakness that they were made strong (Heb 11:34).
2. Keeping His word: God writes His word on our heart and it is not too difficult to “keep” it. “For our love for God means that we obey His commands (keep His word). And his commands are not too hard for us (1John 5:3 GNT).” Obedience to the word of God is attainable by faith.
3. Not denying His name: Our conscience easily condemns us in this area however, even when the apostle Peter denied Christ three times because of his humble attitude Christ reinstated him and went on to be a courageous witness for Jesus Christ.

All three qualities are attainable for any follower of Jesus Christ. Therefore, let us enter boldly and confidently into the wide open door of 2013 with a positive expectation of great things ahead! Go through that door. See you on the other side!
