Still talking left wing and right wing politics? You’ve been asleep for the last 30 years. Wake up!

The old ideas of right wing and left wing politics died along time ago. New Zealand is now firmly in the grips of a corporation run by the executive council (company directors) appointed from elected representatives.  Consider this, after serving three consecutive terms (nine years) as leader of the executive, we voted Helen Clark out. She left the corporation and she got a job in New York, replaced by former international banker John Key, who six years before that, had left his job in New York to pursue leadership of the New Zealand corporation. After two terms leading the corporation, voters will now decide whether to return him for another term or not. The thing is, the overall direction NZ has not changed significantly in the last 15 years. The direction hasn’t changed much at all since the bloodless takeover of the corporation  in 1984. New Zealand is one of the most politically stable countries in the world. The overall direction of the New Zealand corporation has been set and chartered like a boat heading towards a predetermined destination. Most of our 120 members of parliament are like passengers lying on the deck chairs on the upper deck of the boat. Me and you, we are below deck. Every three years we have an election and we shuffle the deck chairs around on the top deck but it has little to no effect on the overall direction of the boat. The power to steer the boat is reserved for the executive council. The vision of the New Zealand Company founded in 1837 has almost been completely materialised. The only thing that continues to stand in the way is the Treaty of Waitangi. Let us enjoy the exercise of our democratic right to vote this Saturday if you have not already voted. But realise that the real direction is coming from the bowels of New York, Mystery Babylon. If  you don’t like the direction, do more than just vote. Start rocking the boat. Start realising that government is not the saviour. If we continue to put our faith in the state to solve our problems, we are heading deeper into enslavement. If we put our faith in Someone higher than the state we will be prepared when state becomes our enemy.
